Alpena County Michigan

Carol LaCross retired as the Chief Deputy County Clerk with 14 ½ years of outstanding service.  She had a friendly way of working with people and making any job more enjoyable.

On Oct. 19, 1992 Carol was hired by the former County Clerk Blondine Smolinski and has been involved in many areas of work within the Clerk’s Office.  On July 1, 2000 she became the Chief Deputy County Clerk under Bonnie Friedrichs-were she remained until her retirement.  Carol’s job duties included payroll which made her popular with her co-workers.  But being payroll clerk carried responsibilities and dedication that Carol held in high regard.

Carol began her well-earned retirement on April 27, 2007.  She made a lot of friends at the County and we were sad to see her go.  Her enthusiasm for life will make her retirement years very fulfilling, camping, traveling and spending time with her family, especially husband Terry, children Curt, Lisa and Brian and their spouses, along with grandchildren Mason, Cierra, Faith and Annabelle.
