Alpena County MIS Dept provides support for voice, data, and video services.

Alpena County MIS Dept supports approx. 150 users and 150 workstations.

The county's workstations have all been standardized with IBM hardware and Microsoft XP purchased
thru Chowen and Associates.

Servers have been standardized with IBM hardware. Servers are a combination of Windows Server 2003, Ubuntu, Debian, and Novell.

Current email services are handled by a debian server running postfix with multiple virus and spam filters.

Internet is a 100 meg connection shared by various entities provided by Merit services.

Alpena County network infrastructure consists of a combination of wireless, hardwire, and fiber optics.
